Hexbound puts Palmer against demonic forces across cursed worlds, mixing retro FPS combat, powerful spells, secret paths, puzzles and permanent upgrades.
Hexbound throws you into the role of Palmer, a hardened demon hunter fighting through worlds already consumed by supernatural corruption. Rather than keeping the action confined to one gloomy setting, the game moves between wildly different environments, from haunted castles and frozen Antarctic facilities to ancient ruins, abandoned laboratories, and the depths of Hell.
HEXBOUND GAME OVERVIEW
The retro-inspired FPS formula gives the adventure a familiar old-school feel, but supernatural abilities add another layer to the shooting. Weapons handle the immediate threats, while eight powerful spells provide alternative ways to deal with enemies and tougher encounters. Exploration matters just as much as combat, with maze-like stages filled with locked areas, puzzles, secret rooms, hidden switches, and valuable discoveries.
Five Worlds, Five Kinds of Nightmare
Hexbound builds its campaign around five corrupted locations:
- Haunted Castles - Gothic corridors and hidden chambers conceal supernatural threats.
- Frozen Antarctic Facilities - Isolated laboratories turn the frozen wilderness into another dangerous maze.
- Ancient Egyptian Ruins - Forgotten structures hide puzzles, pathways, and monstrous guardians.
- Abandoned Laboratories - Strange experiments and hostile creatures transform science facilities into dangerous battlegrounds.
- Demonic Hell - The final descent brings Palmer face-to-face with the darkest forces behind the corruption.
The change of scenery keeps exploration from feeling predictable. Each world introduces its own atmosphere, enemies, secrets, and challenges while continuing the larger hunt.
Gameplay
Hexbound gameplay combines fast FPS combat with exploration and character progression. Palmer moves through maze-like levels, searches for colored keys, solves environmental puzzles, and discovers alternative routes before reaching the next section. Combat becomes more flexible through an assortment of weapons and eight spells, allowing different combinations of firepower and supernatural abilities against different enemy types.
Gold collected throughout the campaign serves as an important resource. Spending it on health, mana, strength, and ammunition gradually makes Palmer better prepared for later stages. Permanent perks also contribute to long-term progression, giving exploration an additional purpose beyond simply finding the exit.

Combat That Rewards Adaptation
Enemy variety prevents one weapon or spell from solving every encounter. Some situations favor direct firepower, while others encourage Palmer to make better use of supernatural abilities and movement. Stronger monsters become increasingly difficult to handle as the campaign progresses, making upgrades and ammunition management increasingly important.
Boss encounters provide another test of preparation, especially after long stretches of exploration. Learning enemy behavior and choosing the right tools can make the difference between pushing forward and being forced to rethink your approach.
